May Day Pageant, c.1950

Students are seen sitting around a maypole with the famous sycamore tree in the background. The May Pageant was first presented on May 8, 1919, and presented elaborate choreography. The sycamore tree earned Ursinus a place in Ripley's "Believe It or Not" because it stood in the endzone of Patterson Football Field.
